"Occupational therapy. Hopeless into hope. Can’t into can. Impossible into possible." Valerie Pena, OTR
Occupational therapy is a profession that helps people across the lifespan to do the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of daily activities. Occupational therapy practitioners enable people of all ages to live life to its fullest by helping them promote health and attain a healthy lifestyle. They promote health, and teach compensatory strategies that will allow you to live with injury, illness or disability. Occupational therapy practitioners use a holistic perspective, in which the focus is on adapting the environment and/or task to fit the person, and the person is an integral part of the therapy team. It is an evidence-based practice deeply rooted in science. Our occupational therapists at Alpha Rehabilitation provide, direct, one-on-one treatment sessions in order to promote optimal therapeutic outcomes. We welcome the opportunity to work with you, please call our office to set up an appointment.
Our occupational therapists can complete home safety evaluations or offer consultation for increasing independence with activities of daily living such as bathing or dressing. They can also help you find new ways of doing desired activities as you are going through treatment and beyond, through activity modification or adaptive equipment.
